TIPCSTunisian Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies

Who we are

“Think-do” means that research is only the start. We take what we learn with young people, universities, municipalities and civil society and turn it into pilots, policy asks and tools that others can use.

The Tunisian Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies (TIPCS) is a think-do tank under Tunisian law, based in Monastir. Activity began in 2016, the constituent meeting took place on 26 October 2021 and the association was registered in the Official Gazette (JORT No. 135) on 15 November 2022.

What we do

We research the causes of conflict and the conditions for peace in Tunisia and the Mediterranean, and we turn what we learn into action: pilots with communities, courses for young people, proposals to institutions and tools that others can reuse.

  • Independence

We are funded by members, gifts and project partners, and we publish what we find.

  • Participation

Young people, women and local organisations take part in setting priorities and in delivery.

  • Evidence

We build on research and document what works and what does not.

  • Openness

Our reports, accounts and notices are public, in Arabic, French and English.

Who we work with

Universities, associations, municipalities, media and partner organisations in Tunisia and in the thirteen countries where we have offices. Partners · Offices
